In Helsinki, Princeton and NJ universities tout building NJ Innovation Ecosystem

Princeton University’s Director of Corporate Engagement and Foundation Relations Coleen Burrus recently participated in a panel about the New Jersey Innovation Ecosystem at a conference in Helsinki, Finland. Burrus appeared with representatives from Rutgers University; Rowan University; the New Jersey Technology Council; and BioNJ.

The panel, titled “New Jersey Innovation Ecosystem: The Role of Enablers in University-Industry Collaboration,” discussed entrepreneurship education, industry/corporate engagement, economic development, and the start-up environment of New Jersey. Coleen focused on the topic of industry/corporate engagement, emphasizing the importance of developing University and corporate/foundation collaborations to cultivate an innovative ecosystem in the state.

At the June 2019 UIIN Conference in Helsinki, Coleen Burrus, director of the Princeton University Office of Corporate Engagement and Foundation Relations, talks about the University's research collaborations with industry in New Jersey.

The panel was part of the seventh University-Industry Interaction Conference, a three-day event of the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN). The conference is the largest in the field, featuring over 100 speakers from around the world and bringing together more than 500 managers, researchers, and practitioners in entrepreneurship, collaborative innovation, and university-industry interaction. Emphasizing information sharing, networking and  the fostering of collaborative relationships, UIIN reserved time for participants to meet and interact during and after the conference.
