Opportunity:

The Independent College Fund of New Jersey (ICFNJ) is inviting applications for its Pfizer – PURE (Pfizer Undergraduate Research Endeavors) grant program, made possible by the generous support of global pharmaceutical company Pfizer Inc.

Initiated in 2002, the PURE Science Program supports the efforts of ICFNJ’s member institutions in encouraging undergraduate students to participate in research opportunities to explore their understanding of scientific principles and to take part in scientific innovations.  The availability of these opportunities is intended to broaden student knowledge to meet the demands of emerging and long-term career paths, thus addressing the critical workforce needs of New Jersey’s pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.

The PURE Science Program promotes innovative projects that:

  • encourage undergraduate students to become involved in and knowledgeable of the wide range of scientific fields, especially those which are vital to the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries;
  • enhance the education experience of undergraduate students by engaging them in scientific research;
  • stimulate and strengthen interactions among ICFNJ colleges and universities; their students and the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.

PURE projects should seek to promote opportunities to a larger audience.   Individual research projects will not be given priority consideration.
