The Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) Career Awards at the Scientific Interface - $500K — External Deadline: September 6, 2017 4:00 p.m. ET

Wed, Sep 6, 2017, 4:00 pm

The BWF Career Awards at the Scientific Interface (CASI) are intended to foster the early career development of researchers who have transitioned or are transitioning from undergraduate and/or graduate work in the physical/mathematical/computational sciences or engineering into postdoctoral work in the biological sciences, and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research. Scientific advances such as genomics, quantitative structural biology, imaging techniques, and modeling of complex systems have created opportunities for exciting research careers at the interface between the physical/computational sciences and the biological sciences. Tackling key problems in biology will require scientists trained in areas such as chemistry, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, and engineering. In the first stage, all applicants will be required to complete a web-based questionnaire assessing their eligibility to apply for this award. If eligibility criteria are met, applicants will be automatically directed to the web-based pre-proposal application. Pre-proposal is due by September 6, 2017 4:00 p.m. ET.
